The MSIA is governed by a volunteer 17 member Board of Managers. The Board reflects the diversity of our organization: manufacturing, education, government, energy, food, consumer products, and health care are typically represented on the Board at any given time. We have ongoing liaisons with group self-insurance companies, the Michigan Manufacturers Association, and the Michigan Chamber of Commerce. Third-party administrators of self-insureds also participate in the MSIA’s activities, as well as employers who are technically “insured” but retain high deductibles.
Mike has been the Director, Insurance and Risk Management for Ilitch Holdings, Inc. since September 2013. He has more than 25 years of experience in corporate risk and insurance management including workers compensation program management and loss control. Prior to joining Ilitch, Mike was the Insurance Program manager for Dr Pepper Snapple Group in Plano, Texas. Previous experience also includes Daimler-Chrysler Corp, Penske Corporation and Guardian Industries.
Mike received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University, and Masters of Business Administration from Western Michigan University. He is past president of the Detroit chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society and holds the CPCU and ARM designation from the Insurance Institute of America.
